About Lilian
Biography
Lilian trained as a sculptor at the Scuola di Scultura in Peccia, Switzerland, and the Escola Massana in Barcelona. She subsequently studied Art Education in Zurich and expanded her artistic practice with a focus on performance at the F+F School of Art and Design. Further studies led her to the Accademia Teatro Dimitri in Verscio, where she studied contemporary theatre and stage arts with Stepania Lupo. She later completed a Master’s degree in Expressive Arts and Psychology at the European Graduate School in Leuk/Saas-Fee.
As a performance artist, Lilian has developed an extensive national and international practice. Her performances have been presented throughout Switzerland as well as in France, Italy, Spain, Chile, the United States, Canada, and Mexico. She served as guest curator of the first Bienal Internacional de Performance in Santiago de Chile and was nominated twice for the Swiss Performance Art Award, at the Kunstmuseum Luzern and the Gessnerallee Theatre in Zurich.
Collaboration is central to Lilian’s artistic practice. Many of her performances are created together with other people and emerge in direct dialogue with specific places, social contexts, and everyday situations. Space, time, and environment form the basis of her work, through which she creates poetic, site-specific interventions that invite encounters and open new perspectives on social realities.
Lilian received an artist residency grant from the Aargauer Kuratorium, enabling her to work at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
Since 2020, she has regularly worked as a performance coach and lecturer at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), where she mentors students in the development of their artistic practice.

Lilian absolvierte ihre Ausbildung zur Bildhauerin an der Scuola di Scultura in Peccia sowie an der Escola Massana in Barcelona. Anschliessend studierte sie Kunstpädagogik in Zürich und vertiefte ihre künstlerische Praxis mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Performance an der F+F Schule für Kunst und Design. Weitere Studien führten sie an die Accademia Teatro Dimitri in Verscio, wo sie bei Stepania Lupo zeitgenössisches Theater und Bühnenkunst studierte. Ihren Master in Expressive Arts and Psychology erwarb sie an der European Graduate School in Leuk/Saas-Fee.
Als Performancekünstlerin arbeitet Lilian seit vielen Jahren national und international. Ihre Performances wurden in zahlreichen Städten der Schweiz sowie in Frankreich, Italien, Spanien, Chile, den USA, Kanada und Mexiko präsentiert. Sie war Gastkuratorin der ersten Bienal Internacional de Performance in Santiago de Chile und wurde zweimal für den Swiss Performance Award nominiert – am Kunstmuseum Luzern sowie im Theaterhaus Gessnerallee Zürich.
Im Zentrum ihrer künstlerischen Praxis stehen ortsspezifische Performances, die häufig in Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Menschen entstehen. Raum, Zeit, soziale Kontexte und die unmittelbare Umgebung bilden den Ausgangspunkt ihrer Arbeiten. Aus alltäglichen Situationen entwickelt sie performative Interventionen, die Begegnungen ermöglichen und gesellschaftliche Fragestellungen poetisch erfahrbar machen.
Für ihr künstlerisches Schaffen erhielt Lilian unter anderem ein Atelierstipendium des Aargauer Kuratoriums für einen Aufenthalt an der Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
Seit 2020 ist sie als Performance-Coach und Dozentin an der Hochschule Luzern – Design Film Kunst (HSLU) tätig und begleitet dort Studierende in ihrer künstlerischen Praxis.
